Verhoef Family

There’s nothing like Christmas to bring everybody together. (In my family’s case we would finish that sentence with, “to share germs and get violently ill.”) This was a very special family session. Not only are Will and Ruth VIPs in our lives, but this session was won in the Holland Festival auction last spring. I was surprised and flattered to watch last May as the bidding for our photography session climbed up beyond $500 in the auction. Ruth knew that her four kids and their families would be coming to SoCal in Dec. 09 – perfect for family photographs – so she bid like crazy. We had a great time together during the session and got some beautiful shots..

And the pair that started it all…

Special thanks to Jess Hekman for coming out and lending a hand with this crazy family.

Finally, The Wagner Family
Monday, February 9th, 2009
I’m finally catching up on our December family sessions. I’ve been looking forward to blogging this session for a long time because everything we did seemed to work that day. This will definitely go down as one of my favorite family portrait sessions. These guys just had a great time together in front of the camera.
These are some of my favorite shots. Sisters are so helpful.
Thanks Wagners. I had a great time hanging out with you guys.

DeKock Family Portraits
Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009
How could you not have fun hanging out with the DeKock family. Russ gets the credit for bringing Jill and me out to Southern California from the frozen north more than seven years ago. This doesn’t make him very popular with my Minnesota parents.
Russ and Joyce were the first to invite us to their house for dinner. This was the beginning of our deep connection and commitment to our church and school community.
You remember Kyle from his senior photo shoot last Fall.
This could be my favorite shot of the day.
