Jeff and Carmen – Expecting

We scheduled this maternity session just in time. Five days after the shoot, their little girl arrived. I’m so glad we got some photos of Carmen and Jeff before the baby came. It’s fun to look back at that cool pregnancy time.

We’ve known Jeff and Carmen ever since we arrived in Southern California from the snowy north. We’ve been in bible studies together, gone to church together, and most importantly we’ve rocked out together. These guys are great. I had the awesome opportunity to go take some photos of their new arrival in the hospital (photos coming soon), and no one could be happier to be a dad than Jeff. Their little girl is very lucky to have these two as parents.

Some photo setups fail, and its best to just laugh.

Relax and have fun with your photo session. The food is on us. Enjoy it during the session (fun romantic picnic shots), or after the session is done when my camera and I are long gone.

Here are some more photos of Greg and Liz. There is just one more series of these two to post after these. I love shooting couples because it’s so much fun to watch them interact. These guys are the unofficial symbol of the merger between two Christian schools in our community. Liz teaches at Redlands Christian School and Greg teaches at Arrowhead Christian Academ y. It’s like the king’s daughter of one kingdom marrying the king’s son of another kingdom to form an alliance and conquer the world. That’s how I like to think of it anyway.

Greg and Rachel

For years, I’ve been thinking about doing a shoot with Greg and Rachel. They wanted to update their albums, and I wanted the portrait practice. But since I’d been shooting film and mostly landscapes up until recently, we just never took the leap to set a date and see what we could produce.

Well, a few weekends ago we got together on an overcast morning and did what we’d been talking about all this time. It was the most fun I’ve had with a camera yet. These guys were troopers – Rachel was freezing, and Greg just kept making out with his wife whenever I asked him to. We had a lot of fun.

Their dog was not amused.

The guys in the garbage truck started honking and whistling.

It’s easy to take hip photos with a couple that looks like they could be hosting the MTV music awards.

It was just so much fun to hang out with these guys.

This is one of my favorites of Rachel.

Greg was all too willing to kiss Rachel when I asked him to.
