We wanted a rugged, Western kind of setting for one of the sets. I found this great cactus farm out in Beaumont that was great for photography.

Their boy has grown quite a bit since our last shoot. Plus, they’ve got a new one!

The next John Wayne, I think.

Now I got them all together with their parents!

The long Autumn makes for great photography in Southern California. The trees are still golden and the light is still warm. It was a beautiful day for photos.

There are so many reasons for business professionals to get quality headshots taken. I’m often stunned to visit websites that probably cost close to $10,000 only to click the staff bio page and find junky-looking photographs of employees (and owners) sitting on a lawn chair with their cat at a 4th-of-July picnic. Come on, people! If you want great looking marketing materials make sure you have quality photographs!

I loved Caitlin’s entrance coming down the hill to the beautiful view at Serendipity in Oak Glen, CA with trusty sidekick and maid of honor clinging to the back of the golf cart.

This little girl was awesome. She carefully considered each rose petal before letting go and allowing it to float down to the grass. She nearly stole the show.

But then came the real show-stopper!

Brothers don’t shake hands. Brothers gotta… kiss?

They couldn’t keep there hands off of her.

Very dapper.

It was a great day. Thank you guys for letting me be part of it.

However, I don’t get cell phone reception up there in the hill country and it’s difficult if not impossible to find someone if there’s a miscommunication, which is exactly what happened with the Nix family. Luckily, they were all very gracious and forgiving of me for not clarifying exactly where we would meet. We found each other in the end, and still had a lot of fun shooting in the last golden light of the day up in Oak Glen.

First up is the Cardenas family. You don’t find ‘em more charming than this. The whole shoot was just really fun and pleasant with casual conversation and little bits of humor. I love meeting families like this.

I think I told him to imagine that he loved doing homework every night.

I love working together with clients to create images that express their personalities and highlight the things they’re most passionate about. This family brought all kinds of ideas to the table and we had a blast shooting until the sun went down. And this little girl… what a hoot. She never stopped dancing and running and laughing. She even mooned me a couple times. In the end, a fun shoot = great, self-expressive images.
