After a shoot this weekend, I got a chance to photograph some of these guys practicing for an upcoming race on the local track. My brother and I got rc cars for Christmas when I was about eight. We pulled up the area rug in our basement and made a track out of masking tape and Matchbox Cars. He would love this! I can’t wait to catch my first racing event.

I was looking forward to building an album for some of our clients for a long time. Greg and Liz wanted to order an album from the start, and it was exciting to work with them to put it together. This week the album arrived, and it was everything we were hoping for. Leather Craftsmen is a top of the line company. They specialize in hand mounted and bound wedding albums, and they did not disappoint. The album is beautiful. Congratulations again, guys. I hope you enjoy this album years to come.

I had never heard of Lesotho. It turns out that it’s one of the poorest countries in Africa. If you’re born there, you can expect to live a measly 42 years. Our little church group went there to visit an orphanage called Beautiful Gate, and we haven’t looked back since.

Since that first trip, we’ve sent more groups to Africa, and raised a lot of money for Beautiful Gate. It’s a ministry that God has given us to grow, and it has made its way into the hearts of just about everyone in our community. You may recall my portrait session with Brenda. She spent almost a year living at Beautiful Gate. Now Brenda is part of a team of people organizing the Beautiful Run in Redlands on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The Beautiful Run is part of a larger Beautiful Africa campaign designed to raise money to pay for food and supplies for the Beautiful Gate orphanage. Mark Leonard Imaging is proud to be the official photographer for the event. If you have an itch to walk or run for children in Africa, check out the Beautiful Run in Redlands.

I just wasn’t going to pay the prices that the big box stores charge for replacement power cords – $90 or more!

I really need that cord before Friday and especially for Saturday!  I have three shoots to do this weekend and one on Monday.   Does anyone have an HP or Compac laptop, and would you be willing to loan your power cord to me!?  I’ll throw in a free photo shoot!
